I wonder if the non-born in elder will wake up over his not being able to help people as much as he would like to? They know now what they're dealing with in me hopefully, and that if that young inquisitor/career elder wants to out me, it could do more damage than keeping me in and thereby seemingly harmless. If I am just allowed to fade quietly, I'm certainly no threat. If they out me, I'll not go out quietly, which is a threat.

The good guys came to my house this time, after calling me and asking if it was ok. I thought, yeah why not?
There were two of them again, but we all had a cup of tea and chatted about family and random things, and these two friends really are genuine loving guys, and told me that the other elder, the young so-and-so was wrong to attack me like that, and they sincerely offered their assistance in any way. They older one who must be about 67 said things like, "If Jehovah's using this organisation..." like he's really questioned it himself. He told me he's been treated very poorly over the years, and showed me 1 Tim 5:24 which says along the lines of some sins are open from the beginning, but the others will be made manifest later, and therefore leave it in God's hands.
The other brother, who's in his 50s, is a friend and been in about the same length of time as me, gave me a sincere hug when he came in, and showed me something from Ps. 119. He offered his support too because, as the other elder, he's known me for a while and knows I'm a good egg, and that they neither of them were going to interrogate me, and both were sorry I had to endure that and can see it's really hurt me.
I believe I'm a pretty good judge of character, and these two were acting as friends more than elders; though there was that shepherding quality, I was given the respect I deserve as a sister in Christ. I kept my more controversial ideas to myself, while telling them how much I love Jesus and the Father. They had no problem with me comparing other translations of the Bible like the other ones did, and mentioned nothing about the GB.
If they came by design in collusion with the others, then they were definitely good-cop. If not, they were friends.
I still didn't go to the meeting today. My husband's there now. That's a whole other matter, but I believe I'm out of Brother Preppy's firing line for a little while.

these are emails from the 2 days worth of conversations, so it's going to be long.. this was a message i got from my cousins mom...this was the first email i got.. i was recently informed of your fathers recent visit to his mother and the volatile conversation he had with her and the apostate things he said about jehovah's organization.
i did not talk to your grandmother and hear from her personally but through and reliable friend whom i trust explicitly that talked with her.
ANYTHING that's not in harmony with the official Party line of the time, even if you're discussing a scripture or having a personal opinion about the Lot's Wife pictures, is apostate. They're so superstitious they're seeing apostates in every shadow, just like primitive peoples used to see devils and evil spirits. Fear is a powerful tool, one that cults like the WT know how to play like a violin.
i slept horribly last night because of stress.
it's been a while since i had insomnia, but the meetings are slowly causing that disorder to make a comeback.
the " bible " study was one of the most messed up things that i have heard in a long time.
I too can't sit through the meetings anymore. Haven't been to the TMS for a few weeks, and before that I zoned out of the Jeremiah study. Talk about twisting the scriptures! I've often found a lot of things unpalatable at the meetings but being a goodthinkful JW I glossed over those things. I'm still trying to break free. I never want to sit through another one of those "aren't-we-so-much-better-than-the-world-and-every-other-religion" meetings ever again.
i had the following conversation with a brother ex-bethelite ,left in good standing to start a family and currently a po in his congragation .he regularly gives talks in district and circuit assemblies .we go way back so he tollerates my comments but he is a die hard .we had the following conversation recently.
me:" have you heard about the new light for the fds?
elder:"...is that something you read in an apostate website?".
It's so damn nuts and most JWs don't even notice the change. One friend of mine who's been in for 40 years said, "The FDS has always been the GB. It was never all the anointed."
I found the passage in my old study Bible from the late 90s, and I have underlined at Matt 24:45 where it says 'fds' and written in the margins "GB", for 'domestics' I've got 'other anointed', and for all belongings I've got 'great crowd'. And this was in the 90s- did the lady who studied with me have the new light over a decade before the GB did?

He wanted to know how I was. I assumed he knew about the run-in with the inquisitors,
but it was news to him. I told him how emotionally fragile I am and how I got the shakes just talking about it to him. He was very compassionate and apologised for the fact that this young Hot Shot went after me. He was so compassionate on the phone and asked me why I didn't tell him about what they did to me when it happened. I mentioned the deception they pulled to catch me off guard and he is the second elder I've told who thought it was unChristian. I spoke no disrespect of the ones who did this, but told them I have been very stumbled and am suffering trauma. This is true: I never want a man in a tie in my house again. I've been having nightmares again, and that sense of helplessness where you just want to scream. Haven't had that since I broke mental ties with this cult a few months ago.
I'm confused as. I want out of this damn cult so I can get my thinking straight. I'm fading at the moment but it's such a mess. Argh.

it was kinda funny sitting there listening to them go down the line, name by name, of the ones auxilliary pioneering since the numbers are dropped to 30 hours for march & april.
as they were doing the names i was saying to myself, "she don't work", "she supposedly can't work", "he hasn't worked in years", "she gets a check", "she's probably gonna lie about the amount of hours she did" etc.. gotta love it.. i don't know if this happens in your congregation or not, but have you ever heard someone remark about someone else behind their back, "she can show up at every gathering, but she can't show up for field service!
We call them 'bludgers' here in Australia, people who bludge off the government. Most of the pioneers I know round here though are workers though one's on a widow's pension, and some others have retired. We even have a bunch of window washers and stay-at-home mums, but these ones aren't a burden on society.
Ever noticed how some pioneers are 'creative' about how they count their time? I've seen an hour coffee break counted because someone left a tract on the table for the waiter. I've seen them at the group but not rock up to the territory til 10 because they were getting the children ready 'on the clock'. Or the one who runs her errands and counts the time because she winds down the window at the lights and talks to a person in another car, and leaves a magazine in the doctors' waiting room. People who are that creative with counting time are also creative when counting dollars.
so my good people, hear this.. my dad used to be the assembly and convention overseer, so i know the facts.. do you know why the org loves assembly halls so much?
the place i grew up - we had the circuit assemblies in our town.
we were able to rent the facility for $1000 / day plus expenses.
So when they hire a stadium at a discount rate because of the cleaning or whatever. Do they make money from these gigs? Some elder told me that they only get just enough donations to cover the hire of the venue. All these people drag their families from all over the place to stay in the city, and here in Australia it's winter and not holidays when the conventions are staged so they have to pay and it's not even a holiday. So do they even have any money to give the WTS anything extra?!
I'd be interested in knowing just how and by what mad means they raise money.
